Daniel Maughan, president and CEO of Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, will be discussing Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) and "business blind spots" during his talk at Mount Saint Mary College on Tuesday, February 1 at 11:10 a.m.
The public is invited to the free presentation. A limited number of seats are available.
Maughan, an alumnus of the Mount, will be speaking in Aquinas Hall's room 216. The Mount is located at 330 Powell Ave., Newburgh. If you would like to attend, email Catherine Rehfus-Wilsek, associate professor of Healthcare Management, at Catherine.Rehfus-Wilsek@msmc.edu.
Visitors to the college must fill out a health screener at msmc.edu/screening before arriving on campus. (Do not come to campus if you are feeling ill or do not pass the screener.) Visitors must also wear a mask at all times.
Maughan's nursing and leadership career spans more than 30 years, mainly within the hospital setting as a nurse, nurse practitioner, and healthcare leader. During his presentation, Maughan will focus on transformational leadership, a management style that helps to create positive changes in employees and business.
Rehfus-Wilsek expressed her gratitude to Maughan for sharing his wisdom with the next generation of business leaders: "As an alumnus of the college, he wants to see the best from the students and he wants to ensure that those students, when they leave here, have a competitive advantage."
