The Southeastern New York Library Resources Council hosted its 57th Annual Meeting at Mount Saint Mary College on Friday, June 7, gathering dozens of local experts at the college’s Fluet Family Auditorium in Hudson Hall.

The event was overseen by Gina Trask, assistant librarian for Assessment and Instruction at the Mount’s Kaplan Family Library and Learning Center and Board President of Southeastern.

In addition to a report on Southeastern’s current projects by Executive Director Tessa Killian, the event also featured a panel discussion about the impact of Urban Renewal in Newburgh and Beacon. The presentation showcased the personal experiences of residents and the physical and digital archival collections of these two communities. The presenters included Mary McTamaney, the City of Newburgh historian and a former library director at the Mount.

Southeastern is one of nine Empire State Library Council organizations in New York State. The member network of hundreds of academic, hospital, institutional, school and public libraries, historical societies, archives and museums exists to share library resources and professional expertise for the betterment of the organizations’ users.
