Mount Saint Mary College held the “Why Vote?” workshop for students, emphasizing the importance of voting and having their voices heard, on Wednesday, March 20.

The event, a component of the college's First-Year Experience (FYE) program, explained voting processes and registration, offered strategies for discussing diverse viewpoints, and provided guidance on aligning your vote with your principles.

Jenifer Lee-Gonyea, assistant vice president for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer at Mount, moderated the discussion, which featured four Mount panelists:

  • Michael McGuire, assistant professor of History and Political Science
  • Susan Vorsanger, associate professor of Human Services
  • Gina Trask, assistant librarian for Assessment and Instruction
  • Charles Zola, associate professor of Philosophy, Director of the Catholic and Dominican Institute, and Assistant to the President for Mission Integration

The FYE program welcomes first-year students and fosters success as they transition into Mount Saint Mary College's community of learners.
