The Desmond Center for Community Engagement and Wellness, a Mount Saint Mary College initiative, will host the presentation “Bridging the Gap to Health Equity Through Individual and Community Action” on Thursday, November 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. 

The event, part of the Desmond Center’s ongoing Health Equity Talks series, will take place on the Mount campus at 330 Powell Ave., Newburgh, N.Y., in Guzman Hall. It’s free and open to the public, but space is limited and registration is required. To register, visit https://bit.ly/dccewnovember2024. Confirmation will be sent to registrants 24 to 48 hours prior to the event.

Health educator Christie VanHorne, president and founder of CVH Consulting, will discuss how systemic racism, socioeconomic challenges, and historical neglect have shaped health disparities in marginalized communities.
