Mount Saint Mary College’s 46th Annual Golf and 13th Annual Tennis Invitational Tournament on Monday, June 3 earned approximately $110,00 for scholarships at the college.

Held at The Powelton Club in Newburgh, N.Y. and The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge in Monroe, N.Y., the event honored Fr. Gregoire Fluet, Interim President of the Mount, for his dedication to the college and its students’ success. Dozens of friends of the college came to support the Mount, with a total of 110 golf and 24 tennis players.

Since being named Interim President in September of 2023 – and for many years before as Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministry – Fr. Gregoire Fluet has made innumerable contributions to the campus community and beyond. Throughout his time at the Mount, Fr. Fluet has supported the college community on all levels: counseling, connecting, and cheering students on.

His deep passion for the Mount, genuine devotion to the wellbeing of the students, and utmost respect for the college’s Dominican traditions and values has sparked much success in only a short time. Under Fr. Greg’s leadership, the college received a $1 million gift from the Dominican Sisters of Hope to endow and name the college’s Campus Ministry; secured a $1.6 million grant for its Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) to be used over the course of the next five years; and continued the tradition of donating gifts to the local community during the holidays, with a total of more than 1,000 toys.

All donations and net proceeds of the tournament will support the college’s Golf and Tennis Tournament Endowed Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded to academically strong students with financial need, with preference given to students pursuing sports management, sports medicine, or similar fields.

The event’s Platinum sponsor was Pamal Broadcasting – K104 and WHUDD. The Gold Sponsor was The Kaplan Private Foundation. Silver sponsors were D-Ben Systems, Inc., I.B.E.W. Local 363, Orange County Bank and Trust Company, Premiere Ultrasound Services, and Wallkill Valley Federal Savings and Loan. The Tournament Swag Sponsors were RBT CPAs, LLP. and Spectrum Pension and Compensation, Inc.
