Mount Saint Mary College students’ National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) pass rate was 93.33 percent for first-time test takers in 2024, which is well above both the state and national rates. 

The statistic comes from the University of the State of New York –New York State Education Department Office of the Professions, which tracks NCLEX pass rates for the state. 

The NCLEX-RN is a test Nursing graduates around the nation must pass in order to become a registered nurse. It determines if a graduate is safe to practice in the field. 

“I’m extremely proud of our students for their outstanding work in the Nursing program and on NCLEX-RN,” said Lynette DeBellis, associate professor and Chair of the School of Nursing at the Mount. “I would also like to thank our Nursing professors and clinical instructors for all that they do to prepare our students for this important milestone. For 23 consecutive years, Gallup reports that nurses are ranked as ‘the most trusted profession.’ Mount nursing faculty considers it a privilege and tremendous responsibility to prepare graduates for the honorable profession of nursing.”
