As part of their First-Year Experience (FYE), the Mount Saint Mary College Class of 2028 took part in an unforgettable campus scavenger hunt. Students competed to learn more about the college and on-campus resources available to them, helping the Class of 2028 to prepare for their next four years at the Mount.
A sunny Hudson Valley day served as the perfect backdrop as Mount Saint Mary College’s freshmen students competed in the Great First-Year Scavenger Hunt on Monday, September 9.
Organized by the Mount’s First-Year Experience (FYE) program and the Office of Student Engagement, the scavenger hunt served to familiarize students with important offices and people on campus, while creating memorable experiences through team-based activities.
Hundreds of freshmen worked in color-coded teams – and against the clock – to complete activities in five locations on campus in just 55 minutes. Once located, the teams completed an activity before moving on to the next location. These activities included learning how to make citations in the Kaplan Family Library, immersing themselves in important Mount history, and more.
The FYE program cultivates community-based learning, academic success, the personal development necessary for college life, and a connection to the Mount as first-year students become active members in our community of learners.
