Some of the donations from the Mount Saint Mary College community to Newburgh families in need have already made their way to Catholic Charities.

Mount Saint Mary College and friends are doing their best to make the season brighter for families in need, said Fr. Gregoire Fluet, campus chaplain and director of Campus Ministry.

Hundreds of toys that were donated in-person by faculty, employees, and friends of the college were given to Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties on Monday, December 12. However, the effort continues online through December 19. If you would like to help, you can donate through Amazon at this link: www.msmc.edu/ToyDrive2022.

The college’s annual toy drive has a goal of 1,000 toys.

The drive received support from the Mount’s athletic teams, the Student Government Association, and more. Bishop Dunn Memorial School also donated dozens of toys to the effort.

“Mount students and staff are simply trying to make certain, in our own small way, that every child has a toy at the holidays,” said Fr. Greg. “We can’t change the world, but we can make a difference for local children.”

The program was sponsored by Campus Ministry with aid from the entire campus.
