Donor specialist Makenzie Budrow collects blood from Mount Saint Mary College senior Michelle Licata of Plainview, N.Y.
The Mount Saint Mary College community came together for a blood drive in the Fluet Family Auditorium at Hudson Hall earlier this month.
The college’s Student Nurses Association (SNA) planned the event and was among those assisting, along with medical professionals from the New York Blood Center (NYBC).
According to Andria Camporese of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., president of SNA, the drive resulted in 63 units of blood collected.
NYBC notes, “That’s 189 lives that your blood drive will be able to help throughout the community and in our area hospitals once divided into its three components,” red cells, platelets, and plasma.
