
Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y. will host the 14th annual St. Thomas Aquinas Philosophy Workshop, “Aquinas on Nature and the Natural,” from Wednesday, May 28 to June 1, 2025.
The conference will combine presentations by philosophers, with periods for panel discussions and debate.

The event is co-sponsored by the Mount’s Catholic and Dominican Institute (CDI), the Thomistic Institute at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., and the Jacques Maritain Center at the University of Notre Dame.
Scheduled speakers include John Brungardt of Newman University; Christopher Frey of the University of Tulsa; Raymond Hain of Providence College; Josh Hochschild of Mount St. Mary's University; Catherine Peters of Loyola Marymount University; Fr. Raymund Snyder, OP, of Angelicum; and Fr. John Sica, OP, of Providence College.
The Mount’s CDI promotes the Mount’s heritage of St. Dominic, advances the Dominican charism of study and service, provides a forum for discussion of contemporary ethical issues, and enhances Catholic and Jewish dialogue. The Institute welcomes persons of varied faiths and acknowledges different religious traditions as essential to the college’s intellectual and spiritual life.
CDI is directed by Charles Zola, Assistant Vice President for Mission and Associate Professor of Philosophy. In addition to the annual philosophy workshop, CDI arranges lectures throughout the academic year.
