Growing up, I never really knew what career path I wanted to pursue. I had attended a community college at first, but I did not feel like I was following my true passion. A year after receiving my associate's degree in liberal arts, I took a break from school and entered into the workforce. I was hesitant about the idea of returning to college, but I ultimately made the decision to go back.

I was eager to apply to Mount Saint Mary College because my friend, who at the time attended the Mount, had nothing but good things to say about her experience. After looking into the college and learning about its unique programs, I became excited about pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and I was accepted into the college's School of Business not long after. I soon discovered why my friend had always spoken so highly of the college; all the professors and staff members are pleasant and are truly invested in their students’ overall success.

The study rooms in the Dominican Center (DC) have become my favorite locations on campus. It's a calm setting that's perfect for writing papers or studying.  Plus, the views from both the DC and around campus are breathtaking. There are also so many ways for students to get involved; whether it be joining a club, becoming a student leader, or going to the many student activities offered throughout the semester. I especially liked attending Goat Yoga!

The Mount’s Career Center is a great resource for students who are looking for internships and/or employment. When I went to the Career Center, my career counselor was happy to help with my resume and discussed career objectives based on my interests. When I learned that many offices on campus offer credit-based internships, the Career Center helped me apply and land an interview. After the interview, I was offered a social media and content creation internship in the Marketing & Communications Office at the college. In this internship, I get to attend events on campus, create video content for TikTok and Instagram, work with other students, and write captions for the college's main social media accounts. This experience has been really beneficial, and I want to use what I learned during my internship to my future career in content creation. It's a lot of fun, and I suggest that everyone does at least one internship during their college experience. I look forward to using this experience and the skills that I gained from the internship in my future career.

As I approach graduation, I wish I had attended the Mount much sooner during my educational career. My experience at The Mount has allowed me to explore more of my writing interests, and I feel more confident in looking for a job after graduation. I feel like I have learned a ton about my major and built wonderful relationships with friends and professors that will create lifelong memories.
