Bio

Dr. Ludmila Smirnova is a Professor Emerita of Education at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY. In the late 90s until 2000, she was an education professor and Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at Volgograd State Pedagogical University, Russia. She had experience teaching abroad (Germany, Netherlands, Gr. Britain). Since August 2001, Dr. Smirnova has been teaching at MSMC. She has become a central player in the field of educational applications for Web 2.0 and innovative methods of teaching. She has been a partner in a number of web projects known for their global educational outreach. She is a ThingLink, Voice Thread, and Nearpod certified educator. She has been a counselor of the local chapter of KDP, the International honor society in Education for 20 years. She also served as an International Ambassador of KDP and played a key role in establishing sister chapters in Uganda and Italy.
