Carolyn Hoffman-Kaminski

Bio
Assistant Professor, Carolyn Hoffman-Kaminski, joined the MSMC School of Nursing faculty in January 2022. She is a seasoned professional, achieving her DNP from Fairfield University, MSN from Mercy College, AAS from Cochran School of Nursing, Master of Science in Social Work from Fordham University, and a BS in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin. Carolyn worked as a Social Worker for a number of years in a White Plains nursing home before deciding to go back to school for nursing.
After her nursing school graduation, Carolyn embarked on a 10-year clinical career in the Pediatric ICU at Westchester Medical Center. Later, she spent seven years with progressive promotions as Clinical Education Coordinator, Assistant V.P. of Nursing and Education, and V.P. of Quality and Education for Kingston Hospital. She worked closely with the leadership team to prepare and successfully complete JCAHO surveys and to develop annual cost-effective Quality/Performance Improvement, Risk Management, State Regulatory, and Medical Staff Peer-Review Programs to meet the needs of the community and hospital governing body. Carolyn also worked as a Quality & Risk Management Consultant for Hospice Incorporated and Foxhall Ambulatory Surgery Center.
In 2012, Carolyn became the Director of Quality for Stamford Health in Stamford, CT which gave her the opportunity to focus on her passion as nurse, patient safety and quality medical outcomes. She also specialized in Performance Improvement and Six Sigma Data Analysis. Carolyn left this position after nine years to devote her time to full-time Assistant Professor teaching in the Nursing Program at MSMC.
