Brianne Thompson
Director of Student Advising & First Year Experience
Brianne (Bri) Thompson is the Director of Student Advising and First Year Experience. In her role, she serves as a resource, advocate, and point of contact for any first-year student as they transition to college life.
Bri is a native of the Hudson Valley and grew up in Goshen, NY. Bri was highly musical throughout middle school and high school and received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. However, after graduating, she realized that music was more of a private passion of hers as opposed to where she wanted to build her career. After working within the public school sector, Bri discovered that she loved working individually with students to help them succeed in their academic endeavors and returned to school to attain her Master's of Science in School Counseling from Long Island University in 2012.
After eight years of working in public schools, she began a new chapter of her career at Mount Saint Mary College. She arrived at MSMC as the Leadership Development Coach in Student Affairs, where she assisted students in developing their self-awareness, leadership and interpersonal skills before ultimately moving to the Office of Student Success. She loves seeing and working with students everyday and helping them in any way she can on their road to success. Outside of work, Bri enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, dancing a little bit everyday, jammin' out in the car and laughing as often as she can with friends!
