Dr. Albert J. Gruner (right) has been elected
chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mount Saint Mary College in
Newburgh, NY, and Ita Rahilly has been named vice chair of the
Board.
A native of Cornwall , NY, Gruner is a graduate of St. Anselm
College in Manchester, NH, with an AB degree in biology. He
received his doctoral degree from Tufts University School of Dental
Medicine in Boston, MA, and a Chartered Financial Consultant
Designation from The American College – Solomon L. Huebner School
in Bryn Mawr, PA.
Gruner, a former dentist for many years, retired as a chartered
financial consultant with The Valley Group, Inc. in Kingston,
NY.
Currently he serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees of
Ulster Savings Bank in Kingston. As a long-tenured member of that
board, he has served in the past as secretary, chair of the
strategic planning and executive committees, and a member of audit,
HR/compensation, governance/nominating, enterprise risk management
and human resources committees.
As a member and/or officer he has had continuous service on
several not-for-profit and charitable boards, including the
Rosemary Gruner Memorial Fund for Cancer Care, Benedictine Health
Foundation, Gateway Community Industries, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA
of Kingston and Ulster County, the Children’s Home of Kingston and
Kiwanis Club, all in Kingston, NY.
Rahilly has more than 25 years of extensive public
accounting experience and is a partner in the tax division of
Vanacore, DeBenedictus, DiGovanni, & Weddell in Newburgh,
N.Y.
Rahilly (right) concentrates her efforts in the tax arena where
she works with closely-held businesses and their shareholders and
assists clients in achieving their goals.
She is involved with the New York State Society of Certified
Public Accountants at both the local level, including as a past
president and past board member of the Mid-Hudson Chapter of the
New York State Society of CPAs, as well as at the State level where
she recently completed a term as one of the State-wide Vice
Presidents. She is a past President of the Hudson Valley Estate
Planning Council and still serves as a board member and she is a
past President and former board member of the Notre Dame Club of
the Mid-Hudson Valley.
Rahilly graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA
degree with a concentration in accounting.
