
Sedat Pakay, filmmaker and photographer, will be presenting his
short film on the life of James Baldwin, acclaimed American writer
and civil rights activist.
Pakay will show his short film From Another Place
depicting the life of his friend James Baldwin through rarely seen
candid photos of Baldwin’s years in Turkey in the mid-late
1960s.
This event is free and open to the public.
An exhibit of Baldwin photographs by Sedat Pakay begins on
February 4 in Curtin Memorial Library and near the Arts and Letters
office in Aquinas Hall.
In conjunction with this event, an Open Mic will take place on
February 14 at 4 pm in Curtin Memorial Library. The Open Mic will
feature works written and inspired by James Baldwin. Students,
faculty, and staff are welcome to read and listen.
