Students majoring in the social science at Mount Saint Mary
College study why individuals, groups, governments, institutions,
tribes, classes, men, women, and children do what they do, and
learn how to use this knowledge to achieve positive change. Our
courses stress active learning, both inside and outside the
classroom. Through co-ops and internships, students develop
leadership skills and investigate career options.
Social science majors graduate with resumes that reflect both
academic and real-world learning: the credentials that employers
value most. Many become lawyers, diplomats, entrepreneurs, social
workers and counselors, financial analysts, organizers,
psychologists: the people who shape our societies and our
world.
