Admissions Counselor
The Enrollment Management unit is seeking a full-time Admissions
Counselor. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions
Counselor is a twelve-month position with paid vacation and
benefits.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop an in-depth knowledge base about the College and its
academic and extracurricular programs and articulate these programs
in a manner consistent with the College's strategic plan to
prospective students, their families, guidance counselors & the
community.
- Recruit prospective students by conducting high school visits
and attending college fairs in selected territory; cultivate
selected territory by developing relationships with guidance and
college counselors and by increasing application and deposit
activity; provide regular territory analysis and feedback.
- Assist with the daily operations of the Office of Admissions
through daily admission presentations, interviews, on/off campus
admission events, Open Houses and Accepted Student Receptions as
well as email, social media and phone call campaigns. Regular
evening and weekend work are required.
- Meet application through enrollment targets by assisting with
the completion, review and conversion of applications for
designated territory; review applications for admission in a timely
fashion.
- Liaise with various offices throughout the College.
- Develop and foster relationships with MSMC alumni within
assigned territories.
- Maintain a variety of manual and computerized files including
travel and student records.
- Performs other duties as required to meet organizational needs
and goals.
Qualifications include:
- A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of six to twelve month
experience in recruitment, public relations, marketing or a related
field, preferably in a college or university setting.
- A demonstrated commitment to the values and goals of a private
liberal arts college.

Distance Education Graduate Assistant: Copyeditor
The position in the Office of Distance Education supports the
advancement of the hybrid online programs in Mount Saint Mary
College’s adult accelerated degree program. Reporting to the
Director of Distance Education, this staff member works in a team
environment alongside the instructional designer, instructional
technologist, multimedia graduate assistant, and project assistant
to copyedit courses during times of course development and
revision.
Extensive training will be provided to the Graduate Assistant,
whose responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Copyediting all text within the course for spelling, grammar,
and consistency of terms, as well as formatting errors, consistency
of formatting, and ensuring links are functional and
consistent.
- Creating course shells and maintaining the course template
within eClass.
- Completing/confirming course back-ups.
- Bringing course resources into eClass and/or organizing within
eClass (such as scanning printed documents into PDF formats).
- Following up with minor revisions made by instructors in
previous versions of the course.
- Creating activities in eClass (quizzes, discussion forums,
etc.)
- Working with instructional designer and faculty to ensure all
components are deployed and in the correct format.
Time management skills, excellent reading and writing skills,
attention to detail, and a willingness to work in a team
environment required. Acquaintance with eClass is ideal, as well as
familiarity with MLA and APA citation styles. Experience with
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is
essential, as well as an openness to learning new technologies.
Students holding a bachelor’s degree in English or Language Arts
are highly preferred.
Hiring is contingent upon acceptance into one of the MSMC
graduate programs. Compensation includes graduate tuition remission
at MSMC (12 credits annually) and a monthly stipend. Housing is not
included.

Executive Director of Online and Adult Learning
Mount Saint Mary College is seeking an experienced and
innovative leader to assume the newly-created position of executive
director of Online and Adult Learning. Reporting to the Office of
Academic Affairs, the person in this role will:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Office of Online and Adult
Learning.
- Supervise the staff of two reporting units.
- Develop and manage the operating budgets for Online Learning
and Adult and Continuing Education.
- Oversee the development of new courses/programs offered through
both Adult and Continuing Education and Online Learning, as well as
academic programs that combine face-to-face and online
learning.
- Work with the director of Online Learning to identify
appropriate technologies to support online curricula.
- Recommend College policies governing both online and adult
learning programs.
- Advise in the development of recruiting and marketing materials
for online and continuing education programs.
- Recommend and cooperate in the development and implementation
of online administrative and educational support services such as
library services, admissions, registration, and financial aid for
distance education students.
- Develop and implement assessment of academic courses/programs
offered through Online Learning and Adult and Continuing Education,
and work with the academic divisions to undertake assessment-based
program and curricular revision.
- Communicate and work with division, Online, and Continuing
Education personnel regarding faculty, anticipated courses, course
scheduling, seminars, conferences, and instructional design.
- Develop and maintain the accreditations and NYS approvals
required for the College’s Online and Adult/Continuing Education
programs.
- Advise students, as necessary.
- In collaboration with academic division chairs, the director of
Online Learning and the director of Adult and Continuing Education
oversee the identification and recruitment of high-quality adjunct
instructors, to ensure complete coverage of projected courses over
the course of the academic year.
- Assume other duties, as identified by the vice president for
Academic Affairs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD, EdD, or appropriate terminal degree preferred; master's
degree required.
- Experience teaching adult students.
- Experience in online learning, as either an instructor or a
student.

- Experience managing budgets.
