Mount Saint Mary College grad nominated Top Teacher

Danielle Greco, a graduate of Mount Saint Mary College, will appear on the morning television show “Live! with Kelly” Monday, May 14, as one of five national finalists in the show’s Top Teacher Search.

Greco, a special education teacher at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Bethpage, NY, was selected from viewer nominations. During the week of May 14, viewers will vote for a favorite.

“Ms. Greco is responsible for numerous students with various special needs and she devotes the same amount of dedication to each child as if they are the only one she is working with,” wrote Denise Ingenito, a student’s mother, in her letter nominating Greco.

Ingenito added, about a special activity Greco organized, “It has been incredible to watch children with various disabilities beam with confidence with hundreds of their peers and teachers cheering them on.”

Greco commented: “Mount Saint Mary College was instrumental in making me the teacher I am today. The Mount gave me the foundation of my teaching career academically and inspired me to be a teacher who really cares and takes interest in her students. The Mount’s small class size helped me thrive, and professors took an interest in both academic success and the family each student left behind.”
