Newburgh, NY -

Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY will hold its last Open
House of the season on Sunday, November 13 at 330 Powell
Avenue.
The road to a career for prospective freshmen and transfer
students begins with learning about the college’s 47 undergraduate
programs in health professions, business, education, social
services, communication/media, and more.
Families are welcome to attend Open House, 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Sign-in begins at 9:30 am in the Kaplan Family Mathematics,
Science, and Technology (MST) Center atrium.
The Mount’s 400 plus internship and co-op experiences offered
each year open doors to varied job opportunities and make a Mount
education a great value.
The Mount offers the only four year nursing degree program in
New York’s mid Hudson Valley and boasts a NCLEX-RN passage rate in
the high 90s to 100. Recent nursing graduates are working in
hospitals around the country.
Students seeking that highly competitive program will visit the
state of the art labs with computerized patient simulators.
Clinical experiences in community hospitals and healthcare agencies
offer valuable career experience for Mount students as they pursue
their bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing.
For students who want more, the Mount’s honors program provides
increased lab time and academic field experiences exploring the
Hudson River’s historic sites, from Washington’s Headquarters in
Newburgh to nearby New York City.
Mount Saint Mary College is accredited by the Middle States
Association of Colleges and Schools, plus specialized accrediting
commissions such as the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
(CCNE) and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher
Education (NCATE).
Mount Saint Mary College has made strategic investments with
cutting edge technology and was the first college in New York State
with a completely wireless campus. Student ambassadors will show
off tech advances such as smart classrooms, clickers, ecology
simulation software, and digital editing equipment.
With the demand for campus living on the rise, Mount Saint Mary
College recently renovated the Garden Apartments near the college
entrance and has a master plan to add residential space in the
newly acquired Dominican Center. Other residence halls, many with
river views and suite-style living, have semi-private bathrooms,
kitchens, cable, exercise rooms, movie lounges, study areas, and
even solar panels.
The View, the college’s expanded dining hall in Aquinas Hall,
has soft-seat booths and round banquettes, with ambient lighting,
floor-to ceiling windows overlooking the Hudson River, flat-screen
TVs and a new sound system. Along with the recent renovation, the
Mount has kicked up the menu, offering students varied meal options
and additional dining in Jazzman’s and Henry’s Courtside Café.
Another highlight of the campus tour includes Kaplan Recreation
Center with six tennis courts, an all-weather turf field and an
indoor pool with a view of the Hudson River. The Mount offers 17
intercollegiate varsity teams.
More than 95% of Mount Saint Mary College freshmen receive some
form of financial aid, making the Mount a very affordable choice
for its 2,700 men and women.
To facilitate the transfer of credits, Mount Saint Mary College
has special agreements with community colleges in Orange, Dutchess,
Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties, as well as
graduate schools.
