spring, summer, and September sign-ups?
Yes! Although we do not encourage moving around once the
semester is under way, new jobs are always opening up. Go to the
online job board to see what jobs are available. You will need to
notify our office if you want to leave your current position. Once
we remove you from your current position you will have access to
reapply for another position through Online Job Placement.
What happens after I sign up for a job?
When registering for a job, you have the following options:
Select one job for which you are qualified. You will receive a
confirmation page with information that is necessary to begin work,
please read all information. The supervisor of the department you
selected will send you an email with job description, and schedule.
Please promptly respond to this email if you are interested in the
job, or send them an email that you have already secured a position
with another department. It is then your responsibility to follow
up with the supervisor regarding your work schedule.
How many hours can I work per week?
You can work up to (but not exceed) 10 hours per week, depending
on your work-study allotment. The weekly student work period runs

Every student who works must punch in/punch out using ADP

this is how you will log hours and receive a paycheck. No time-card
punch equals no paycheck.

to compensate for the two hours missed in the first week. Your
supervisor must be able to accommodate your make-up hours in the
When do I get paid?
Students are paid every two weeks according to the payroll
Are taxes taken out of my check?
During the school year, your pay is usually too small for taxes
to be taken out because you only work part-time. However, if your
pay is large enough, federal and state taxes will be deducted based
upon your W-4 form. If too much federal or state income tax is
withheld, you will get a refund when you file your tax return for
How do I apply for Direct Deposit?
Being that we have no more paper checks for students, we
encourage all students to sign up for direct deposit.
Click here to download a direct deposit form (PDF). You will
need to know your bank's routing number (this will be on your
online banking screen or you can call your bank's customer service
for help in finding it) and your bank account number (this is
not your credit card number; please obtain your
account number from your online banking screen), or provide a
voided personal check. The following paycheck will be directly
deposited into your bank account. It is always good practice to
verify that the funds were deposited into the proper account.
Pay stubs can be viewed if you log in to www.portal.adp.com.
Can I have more than one job?
In most cases, no. A second job must be approved by the
Financial Aid Office. If you are not working the maximum allowable
number of hours per week, and if there is a part-time job
available, then you might be able to have a second job. Both
departments must also acknowledge your part-time status. We don’t
recommend students having two jobs.
