Mount Saint Mary College student leaders Nicole Havrilla (left)
of East Northport, NY, and Wantagh, NY residents Jenn Garton and
Brian Klose, wear purple in support of P.S. I Love YOU Day, founded
by Brooke DiPalma of West Islip High School, following her father’s
suicide in 2010. P.S. I Love YOU Day (February 10) was related to
the Mount’s Culture of Life: Love Yourself, Be Yourself, Be the
Example campaign, geared to broadening students’ awareness of the
importance of respect, values and moral development, relationships
and decision making.
Havrilla, student government vice president of activities, is
majoring in mathematics/education, student government president
Klose in public relations, and student body public relations rep
Garton in psychology. Participating in Mount Saint Mary College
student government helps students develop leadership skills
beneficial to future careers.
