The Center
for Adolescent Research and Development (CARD) at Mount Saint Mary
College will host its third annual conference “Adolescence in the
21st Century: Constants and Challenges” on April 28.
The event, beginning at 8 am, will be held in Hudson Hall on
campus, 330 Powell Avenue, Newburgh, NY.
Jeffrey Arnett (right), research professor in psychology at
Clark University in Worcester, MA, is the keynote speaker.
He is the author of “Emerging Adulthood: The Winding Road from
the Late Teens through the Twenties” (published by Oxford
University Press).
The conference is supported by a $5,000 grant from the Ralph
Cestone Foundation.
The Center for Adolescent
Research and Development is a clearinghouse for research
initiatives and also assists in research-based program development
for schools, agencies, and families. CARD is directed by Frances
Spielhagen, associate professor of education, and Paul Schwartz,
professor of psychology.
