Mount Media, the production agency for media studies students at
Mount Saint Mary College, created “Their World, in your Hands,” a
series of 30-second video public service announcements featuring
students and families from Nora Cronin Presentation Academy.
Parents spoke about life in their country of origin, and the
importance of better education for their children.
The spots were prepared at the Mount Saint Mary College
television studio and editing lab.
Mount students involved included media production students under
the direction of professor Dean Goldberg: Alec Chakery and Peter
Chakery, Floral Park, NY; Rachel Sangalli, Brewster, NY; Lauren
Parrelli, Beacon, NY; Gregory Jacob, Ridgefield, CT; Theresa Stagl,
Kenoza Lake, NY; Margaret Treacy, Monroe, NY; and professor Victor
Azuaje’s Spanish language students Nicole Golder, Smithtown, NJ;
Monica Guzman, New York, NY; Alissa Keyes, Trumbull, CT; Victoria
Lapinski, E. Northport, NY; Susan McCallop, Newburgh, NY; Christine
Molina, New Windsor, NY; Liliana Peralta-Zapata, Bronx, NY; and
Jefrey Velasquez, Bronx, NY.
One of the Nora Cronin PSAs was screened at Upstate Films, along
with another Mount student video, “The Newburgh Armory Unity Center
Needs Your Help” by Meghan Darcy of New Windsor, NY, Maureen Tilton
of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Russell Pagano of Cedar Grove, NJ.
The rigorous and expanding media studies program at Mount Saint
Mary College features a video studio/editing suite with the latest
non-linear editing equipment, a Mount Media crew for real world
experience, and the KnightRadio station featuring high-tech control
room and studio equipment.
