Newburgh, NY -

Mount Saint Mary College will present The Puppet People
production of A Christmas Carol on Sunday, December 4 from
1 to 2 pm.
The family friendly version of the holiday classic will be
staged in Hudson Hall, on campus at 330 Powell Avenue, Newburgh,
NY.
All proceeds will benefit the Mount Saint Mary College campus
chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
Mount students recently worked alongside members of the
international volunteer program at the 50th Habitat house in
Newburgh, NY, the Deirdre Glenn House at 65 Courtney Avenue. They
helped landscape the site.
The Mount students will soon travel to Huntsville, Alabama, to
participate in the Habitat Collegiate Challenge spring break
project. Last year, 14 club members helped build a home for a
single mom and her children in Cookeville, Tennessee, as well as
volunteering in Newburgh. The club also conducts an annual Care
Packages for the Troops event and participates in other
fundraisers.
As Mount students rehabilitate and build affordable homes for
families in need, they learn the importance and power of group
efforts to help others. More than 50 percent of Mount students are
active in service to the community, demonstrating the college’s
mission of service.
Mount Saint Mary College was recently recognized for outstanding
community service by the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health
Center, and was named to the federal President’s Higher Education
Community Service Honor Roll.
Tickets for A Christmas Carol are $8 per person if
purchased by Nov. 30 or $10 at the door. For more information,
