The Division of Natural Sciences offers a variety of courses
from astronomy and earth science to organic chemistry and animal
physiology.
Students may earn a bachelor's degree in biology or chemistry.
Course requirements also prepare students for graduate study;
medical, veterinary or dental school; and careers in industry or
education.
The division also offers collaboration programs with other
institutions in physical therapy (leading to a doctorate in
physical therapy from New York Medical College), and podiatry
(leading to a doctorate in podiatric medicine from New York College
of Podiatric Medicine).
Students interested in adolescence education may earn a
bachelor's degree in biology or chemistry and a master's degree in
adolescence education in only five years.
The division also offers students an opportunity to pursue an
interdisciplinary studies program with a general science
concentration. This program is intended for students planning to
obtain certification in childhood education and provides a broad
background in biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science.
