The very nature of business and its fluid, global environment
has fundamentally changed in the last ten years. As a business
major, you want a program that incorporates technology,
international vision, and modern organizational science to prepare
for a brave new world.
The Division of Business at Mount Saint Mary College prepares
students for a wide variety of careers as business professionals.
Our programs combine a strong liberal arts core curriculum with
accounting, management, finance, economics, and marketing
courses. You'll learn both the science and the art of
business, and incorporate critical thinking into your skill set
through liberal arts study.
Internships
Students may participate in internships and cooperative
education opportunities. You'll gain firsthand experience in a
business, nonprofit, or governmental agency environment.
With special permission, undergraduate students majoring in
business may take up to six graduate credits in the college's MBA
program during their senior year.
Academic degree programs
The division offers several undergraduate degree programs that
use technology to support the development of fundamental business
skills while integrating a strong liberal arts education.
The Division of Business offers two majors: accounting and
business management and administration. The divisions also offer
finance and marketing concentrations with the business management
and administration major.
Accounting BS/MBA leading to CPA Program (5-year)
Students who qualify for our accelerated accounting BS/MBA
leading to CPA program will earn these two degrees in five years
instead of the normal six years it takes at other institutions.
When you complete the required courses for an accounting major, you
will also fulfill the basic requirements for admission to the
licensing examination to be a Certified Public Accountant in New
York. Students choosing not to complete the MBA will receive a BS
