The Creative Campus Initiative is thriving at the Mount.
A national movement of
promoting creativity initiatives on college campuses has grown
over the past decade. This increase is in partly due to
employers seeking out candidates who think innovatively to meet the
challenges of working in the 21st century.
Creativity has also been given significant attention by
educators, because it allows students to take abstract class
material and make it "real." Creativity initiatives allow students
to explore material that may be outside of their majors, or not
covered in classes.
Creative Campus embraces all disciplines
Fostering creativity does not mean just focusing on the arts.
All fields of study can benefit greatly from a creativity
initiative. Mount students from all majors applying for the Summer
Undergraduate Reasearch Experience (SURE) program are busy creating
and developing proposals for their intended research topic. The
main focus is on encouraging and inspiring creativity and
innovation in all forms.
Your Creative Campus
music to theatre to poetry to independent research on campus, the
creative spirit is thriving at the Mount. We celebrate our
students, their talents, and their skill and imagination as we
welcome new ideas and initiatives. Check out the list of events,
readings, drives, and creative outlets on the Events list, just to
the right of this screen. And keep thinking creatively!
