Mount Saint
Mary College announces the following faculty promotions and a new
faculty member.
Andrea Ackermann, to professor of nursing; Reva Cowan, professor
of education; Patricia Ruff, assistant professor of education; Jill
Sussman, assistant professor of nursing; Moira Tolan, professor of
business.
Promoted with continuous tenure are: Evelyn Barese, associate
professor of education; J. David Gallagher, associate professor of
education; Carl Hoegler, professor of biology; Teresa Hurley,
associate professor of nursing; Susan Vorsanger, associate
professor of human services.
Emerita/Emeritus include: Mattson Atsunyo, professor emeritus of
business; Sr. Jean Rosaire Bedotto, OP, professor emerita of
education.
Joining the faculty is Colleen Kirk (pictured), assistant
professor of business. Since 1997, she worked as an instructor in
business at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
Earlier, she was employed as a national accounts manager for
Borland International in New York City.
Kirk recently received her doctorate degree from Pace
University, Lubin School of Business. Her dissertation was
“Consuming Concepts: The Hedonic and Utilitarian Effects of
Perceived Interactivity in a Digital Information Products
Context.”
Other faculty receiving doctorates this spring include: Jeanne
Roth, assistant professor of nursing, “The Lived Experience of
Caring for a Partner with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease” and Jill
Sussman, course coordinator, mental health nursing, “Nursing
Students’ Perceptions of the Mental Health Clinical
Experience.”
