Academic Divisions

Division of Natural Sciences

The Division of Natural Sciences offers a variety of courses from astronomy and earth science to organic chemistry and animal physiology.

Students may earn a bachelor's degree in biology or chemistry. Course requirements also prepare students for graduate study; medical, veterinary or dental school; and careers in industry or education.

The division also offers collaboration programs with other institutions in physical therapy (leading to a doctorate in physical therapy from New York Medical College), and podiatry (leading to a doctorate in podiatric medicine from New York College of Podiatric Medicine).

Students interested in adolescence education may earn a bachelor's degree in biology or chemistry and a master's degree in adolescence education in only five years.

The division also offers students an opportunity to pursue an interdisciplinary studies program with a general science concentration. This program is intended for students planning to obtain certification in childhood education and provides a broad background in biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science.
