Newburgh, NY -

The Mount will hold an Open House for prospective students on
Sunday, January 29 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at 330 Powell Avenue,
Newburgh, NY.
High school students, prospective transfer students and their
families can learn about the college’s 47 undergraduate programs
and strong internship connections, opening doors to careers in
health professions, business, education, social services,
communication/media, and more, and making a Mount education a great
value.
The Mount offers the only four year nursing degree program in
New York’s mid Hudson Valley and boasts a NCLEX-RN passage rate in
the high 90s to 100. Recent nursing graduates are working in
hospitals in the tri-state region, and elsewhere in the Northeast
and around the country.
Students seeking that highly competitive program will visit the
state of the art labs in the Kaplan Family Mathematics, Science and
Technology Center with hospital-like wards and computerized patient
simulators. Clinical experiences in real world settings also offer
valuable career preparation for Mount students as they pursue their
bachelor’s or master’s.
Mount Saint Mary College has made strategic investments with
cutting edge technology, and was the first college in New York
State with a completely wireless campus. Student ambassadors will
show off tech advances enjoyed by today’s 2,700 men and women:
highlighting smart classrooms, clickers, and digital editing
equipment.
For students who want more, the Mount’s honors program provides
increased lab time and academic field experiences exploring the
Hudson River’s historic sites.
With the demand for campus living on the rise, Mount Saint Mary
College recently renovated the Garden Apartments and has a master
plan to add residential space in the newly acquired Dominican
Center. Other residence halls, many with river views and
suite-style living, have kitchens, cable, study lounges, exercise
rooms, and even solar panels.
The View, the college’s recently renovated dining hall
overlooking the Hudson River, has flat-screen TVs and offers
students varied meal options and additional dining in Jazzman’s and
Henry’s Courtside Cafe.
Another highlight of the campus tour is Kaplan Recreation Center
with six tennis courts, an all-weather turf field and an indoor
pool with a view of the Hudson River. The Mount offers 17
intercollegiate varsity teams.
More than 95% of Mount freshmen receive some form of financial
aid, making the college a very affordable choice.
To facilitate the transfer of credits, Mount Saint Mary College
has special agreements with community colleges in Orange, Dutchess,
Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties, as well as
graduate schools.
