Overview
Study IT and choose a creative career in website management.
Companies of all sizes need websites to gain new customers and
maintain their current ones. A career in web technologies enables
Mount graduates to develop a broad skill set in technical
proficiency, interpersonal communications, and principles of web
design.
IT - Web Technologies at the Mount
Mount students majoring in IT - web technologies take a set of
basic technology courses including Internet programming courses,
before branching into their specialized courses in website
development and management. Students are encouraged to minor in
Business or digital media and to take courses in layout and design
in addition to their required technology classes.
Students in our program are strongly encouraged to engage in

sophomore year. In their senior year, they can earn 6 – 12 credits
in honing their skills in paid co-op internships. In many cases,
students are hired directly from their co-op experience upon
graduation.
Further, via Independent Study, students are offered the
opportunity to pursue subjects of special interest, expand their
knowledge beyond the limits of a course, or do upper-level
research.
The Mount’s IT club sponsors events like Game Night, trips to
New York City’s Sony museum, and a supportive student
environment.
