The Board of Trustees of Mount Saint Mary College has elected
three new Trustees for initial three year terms.
Rev. John A. Langlois, OP, STD, is vicar provincial of the
Dominican Province of St. Joseph, based in New York City, and the
prior of St. Vincent Ferrer Priory, NYC. Fr. Langlois serves on the
Board of Trustees of Providence College in Providence, RI, and is
an assistant professor of church history (on leave) from the
Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception, Dominican House of
Studies, Washington, DC. He holds degrees from Providence College;
Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, DC.;
and University of Fribourg, Switzerland. His publications include
A Catholic Response in Sixteenth-Century France to Reformation
Theology – The Works of Pierre Dore (Lewiston: Mellen Press,
2003).
Wendy E. Long has been a counsel to nonprofit organizations for
five years. Prior to that, she was a litigation partner at Kirkland
& Ellis LLP in New York City. Ms. Long earned an AB degree in
history at Dartmouth College, was a Publius Fellow at Claremont
Institute in California, and studied at Harvard Law School and at
Northwestern University School of Law, where she was graduated
cum laude and Order of the Coif with a Juris Doctorate.
She served as a law clerk for the Honorable Ralph K. Winter on the
United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York,
and for the Honorable Clarence Thomas on the United States Supreme
Court.
The Board also approved Sr. Madeleine Tacy, OP, as a new member
of the Board. Sr. Madeleine, of the Dominican Sisters of Hope, has
served in campus ministry at the University of Massachusetts –
Dartmouth since 1976, and resides in South Dartmouth. She earned a
bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in history from Southern
Connecticut State University, a master’s in counseling from St.
Joseph College, West Hartford, and a M. Div. and D. Min. Psychology
from Andover Newton Theological School.
The Mount will hold an open house for prospective students on
Sunday, January 29 at its campus overlooking the beautiful Hudson
