Whether you're already an RN with an associate degree, an LPN, or
have no nursing background, the Mount has a highly respected
bachelor's degree program in nursing that will work for you.
Depending on your academic background, you could earn your degree
in 2.5 – 3.5 years, while you continue to work.

The Nursing Learning Resource Center
The Sims family of computerized patient simulators offer the
student the opportunity to experience patient symptoms and medical
situations in technological laboratory settings. Through our
wireless network, you can access the college library, the Ramapo
Catskill Library System, and the Internet for the most current
information.
Nursing graduates
The Mount produces highly competent nursing graduates who are
successful on the nursing boards. Our graduates are employed as
staff nurses, research nurses, and nurse midwives. Following the
completion of a master’s degree, they work as nurse practitioners,
clinical nurse specialists and nurse educators.
The Mount's nursing program has achieved accreditation from the
prestigious Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
(CCNE).
The evening and weekend schedule
After submitting your application and official transcripts,
you'll meet with an academic advisor who will answer all of your
questions. They'll guide you through the application process,
review of transfer credits, registration, and selection of
prerequisite courses prior to being eligible for selection as a
nursing major.
The accelerated program features eight six-week sessions per
year. Courses meet either Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and
Thursdays from 6:45-9:55 pm. Clinicals for nursing courses are held
during the day, and you'll know that schedule well in advance.
Career outlook
Overall job opportunities for registered nurses are expected to
continue to be excellent, particularly for those with a BS in
nursing. There is some variation in employment opportunities based
on geographic location, but the employment rate for RNs is expected
to grow much faster than the average for other professions though
2016, because of new jobs being created and the need to replace
experienced nurses who are retiring.
